JUMBO HISTORY
The flagman was frantically waving his lantern, trying to stop the oncoming train… Scotty realized the danger. "Run, Jumbo, Run," he cried, half sobbing . . . I could see Jumbo running down the tracks. His trunk was held high in the air and his trumpeting sent paralyzing shivers down either side of my spine. At that moment the locomotive struck the small clown elephant Tom Thumb, hurtling him down the embankment and against a telephone pole. Jumbo in the meantime had kept on at a break-neck speed. He remembered the opening in the line of cars, but… ran two car lengths past the opening before he realized his mistake. He stopped and turned. and it was then the pilot of the engine struck him.
Internationally Famous Jumbo
died September 15th 1885
He was 24 years old, 6.5 tons and 11.5 feet tall
"The Towering Monarch of his Mighty Race. Whose like the world will never see again!"

Jumbo's daily diet
Gallon or two of beer or whiskey, 200 pounds of hay,  1 barrel of potatoes,  2 bushels of oats, 15 loaves  of bread,  slew of onions, several pails of water and who knows how many peanuts.

located just west of the CASO Station.

1k Mini Jumbo Run - starts at 9:00 am
Each participant will receive a Jumbo Run Medal

5k & 10k Jumbo Run/Walk - starts at 10:00 am
Each participant will receive a Jumbo Run Medal
and Custom embroidered running hat
entry to the post race refueling area and division awards

Presented to the team with the best average pace/km
amongst all their members in the 5k or 10k Jumbo Run.
Anyone can freely and easily create or join a team
 simply enter a team name when you register.
Participants can register for the 5k or 10k and still be on any team.
Each Team Member must submit an Entry Form and Waiver
*Must have a least three members on a team to qualify and compete for the Jumbo Cup

The winners of the JUMBO CUP
will also be awarded $1 from all paid entry fee's
example: 300 participants = $300
